Honey-Molasses Whole Wheat Bread

I like trying new whole wheat bread recipes and I tried this tonight. It smelled wonderful when it was baking and it turned out very pretty and it is delicious!

INGREDIENTS
2 1/4 cups warm water
2 cups whole wheat flour (I used Organic Hodgson Whole Wheat Graham flour)
4 cups of unbleached all purpose flour (Gold Medal is really good)
3 teaspoons salt (I forgot to put mine in-but I usually use sea salt)
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup of mollasses
2 tablespoons dry milk powder
3 tablespoons shortening (I used coconut oil which at lower temps is a solid)
3 teaspoons active dry yeast

DIRECTIONS
Disolve yeast in water and let sit for a couple of minutes while preparing the rest. Measure and Mix dry ingredients together. Now add the liquid ingredients to the yeast water and make sure that the coconut oil completely disolves (if you use this). Now with either a mixer, heavy duty whisk, or just dig in with your hands right away add the dry ingredients to the wet and started working it all together.
Now comes the most important part; Pray! Yes, pray for all those that will partake of this bread. Pray that it will bless them with nourishment and good health. Pray for anything and every thing about those that will eat this bread. Now keep kneading dough and praying until it gets that elasticity - usually about 7-10 minutes. You may need to add a little more flour if too sticky (but CAREFUL not too much) or if too dry and a tbsp of water at a time until just the right consistency. When it is at that point then add a little oil to your bowl (or spray some spray oil) and placed your dough with at towel over top to rise.

When risen, punch down and knead again for 3-5 minutes. Now to make your dough "pretty". Cut it into 2 pieces and place one piece on the clean counter top and make into a not perfect flat circle about 8-10 in wide (eye ball it). Then start at the edge and roll it up to the other edge and place seam side down into an oiled bread pan. Do the same for the other loaf.

Now let it rise in your oven for about 15 minutes and then turn your oven on to 350 degrees. It usually takes another 15 minutes to preheat and that helps the dough rise. Then bake it for 30-45 minutes (look for golden brown look and if necessary take it out of the pan and thump the bottom for that "hollow" sound). If it the above tests prove that it is done then take it out of the oven and put on a cooling rack.

Voila! Enjoy!

Place ingredients in bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer. Select Whole Wheat setting, and then press Start.

That bread looks soooooo good!!!!

I have made yeast free bread before and it turned out alright. Once I get moved and settled I plan on trying my hand at yeast bread. I am always afraid of messing it up. :-)
I think if I do it with a friend I won't feel so giddy about it :-)

God Bless You! Hope you are having a good week!
