The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY March 17, 2009...

Outside my window... I see the sun shining with the promise of a warmer day of around 68. Great playing outside weather for my children (sick or not).

I am thinking... of all the things that I want to get done around the house and outside and becoming a bit overwhelmed again. There is just so much to do. So much stuff that I have collected over time (like country/primitive decos, etc.) thinking oh that looks so cute I'll get it just in case I need it and then I just don't have the room for it. So I need to PURGE! I need to clean up and get rid of stuff! Just need to get started! Pray for me!

I am thankful for... My husband has a very good job and I am able to stay at home with our children.

From the learning rooms... They worked on starfall.com this morn already and played with playdough. Later because of the sickies they might color or something like that.

From the kitchen... I still have to work on my menu for the week plus I need to clean up my desk and work on my Home Mgmt Binder which is kept there.

I am wearing... A green shirt (has nothing to do with St. Patty's day). I just happened to pull that out of the drawer this morning first thing. An ankle length jean skirt (my favorite kind) and brown socks that my hubby and daughter got me for Christmas. My waist length hair is wound tight into a bun literally right on top of my head (I just put it up there a little too high but didn't feel like redoing). Well I've come back to this because the bun on top of the head was adding to the already hurting head I have so now it is in a braid down the middle of my back.

I am creating... Our Ladies Ministry "Reflections" Newsletter which will be published in time for Resurrection Sunday for all in the church plus visitors. My real goal is to try and have it done by April 11 as we will be having our "Sunday Is Coming" play and will have visitors come to that. I am also working on the Ladies Day of Renewal blog, check it out here Ladies Day of Renewal 2009.

I am going... Nowhere! I was hoping to go again to church tonight where we are having a marriage enrichment class until Wednesday. I loved last night as he was very funny and his teaching was so down to earth and understandable. The unfortunate thing is 2 of my children woke up this morning sick. One threw up once but now has diarrhea and the other is just throwing up. No fever just sick. I also have a cough and a little bit of sinus pressure and chest congestion and my ears are a little tingly? So all in all we will be staying home tonight so as to not infect anyone else.

I am reading... The same book, the Stonewyke Trilogy - very far and few between and trying to get back into reading my Bible full time. I have partnered with a friend so that we can hold each other accountable and we will be study the Titus 2 woman (we are doing this in our Ladies Group as well). She is the same friend that I was supposed to be encouraging and calling weekly to make sure she was reading and studying her Bible. Well I have kinda dropped off from what I am supposed to be doing so we are working together to get back on track.

I am hoping... To be a good encouragement to my friend in this Bible study and also to my dearest friend, Sherice in her time of need right now with the struggles she has going on in her life right now.

I am hearing... my dishwasher running which always makes me feel good because I know my kitchen is cleaned up.

Around the house... It is a bit of a mess. I have clean clothes in my bedroom that need folding because it got washed last week but then it got neglected due to the baby shower (which BTW was a great success-she was blessed with so much stuff - 2 cars full of bags of stuff and diapers galore.) I have toys that still need to be sorted to get ready for my yard sale that I want to hold the first weekend in May.

One of my favorite things... Is having HEALTHY children (myself included)

A few plans for the rest of the week... Tomorrow is supposed to be a high of 68 again but rainy. I hope this changes because I would love for the kids to be able to go outside again.

Here is picture thought I am sharing... Our new playset which we purchased with our tax refund. The children really needed something to play on and they have already had a blast on this the past couple of days (it took my husband from around 2 until dark on Thursday, daylight to dark on Friday with some help from his Dad, daylight to dark by himself on Saturday, and daylight to dark on Sunday by himself to get it done.) The reviews are great on this set but everyone did say that I took forever to get it up but it is well worth the time invested in it when it is all put together. Hubby, myself, and children all agree as we all LOVE it!

BTW-these are not my children, it is a pic from http://www.samsclub.com/ where we purchased it.

I hope you can get done everything you want to. It's hard to find time for it all these days.
