Front Porch Ponderings

I found this on one of my Freebies of the day. I checked it out and found I thought I missed it (it was posted 7/16) and usually it is gone the next day. When I saw it I immediately tried to link to it and PRAISE God, it worked. Here is where I get each day a new freebie: http://www.homeschoolfreebieoftheday.com/ But what I am so excited about is this: "Homestead Simplicity: A Primer - Bringing a Little 'Haven' to your Homestead" This goes right along with being a Keeper of the Home. I am going to try to post here in the days to come MORE about being a Keeper of the Home which is what the site is all about. So please check back as I will have some free and some not free resources that I find on the web that will help us pursue being a Proverbs 31 Woman. So here it is, the freebie. I don't know how long it will be free so get it while you can. It is a downloadable E-Book. http://www.homesteadoriginals.com/promo/

I decided to go ahead and post the links that she sends to me via the digest from the yahoo group WhereCanIFindIt. Please keep in mind some are homeschool links and some are just some other neat sites. DISCLAIMER: I personally have not viewed these links so if you come across one that is objectionable to being a Christian PLEASE leave me a comment and I will REMOVE it from my list. The links we have been sharing come from "Homeschool Your Child For Free" published in 2000 but if you visit her website you have the opportunity to try and win her newest version with updated links coming out soon. Here is another installment from Jew for Jesus but she does have a disclaimer though: "I would also like to make a disclaimer. There will be another edition ofthis book comming out soon. I will share the links that work from the 2000edition and several other books that came out in the 90's. I will not sharethe links from the new book. That is not fair to the author. She has goneto a lot of work to make the book and that is how she makes her money. I do suggest that you get the new book when it comes out. I will let you knowwhen that is so that you can go and look for it.These are information links. I will let you know if they are exceptionallinks or if I would be careful with the link. Then it is up to you todecide how to go from there." Bartleby.co...

Hubby and I think we may forego a "formal" curriculum and start K using free resources and start formal school for "1st grade" using our first pick My Father's World (unless thru our research we find something different). I contacted a yahoo group I belong too and have had wonderful responses from some very lovely ladies who shared great info with me. One lady in particular has gone above and beyond the call of duty and has shared with me tons of websites and is planning on sharing tons more. She has found these links in the book "Homeschool Your Child For Free" and said she is checking out the links before sending them to make sure they are still active but said just in case there are any that YOU find that aren't active PLEASE leave me a comment and I will remove them. I would like to share them with you and a link to her site as she has more resources on it as well ( The Jew 4 Jesus Mission Portaportal Site ) Here are the links. I have not had t...
